Recognition from the Late Queen Elizabeth II for producer and trainer, Katie Jerram.

Katie Jerram has been recognised as a Member of the Royal Victorian Order MVO), for services to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s horses, in the Queen’s Demise Honours List.  The Honours list was released on 25th March 2023.

Katie served the late monarch for 20 years, producing and showing her homebred horses with considerable success.  Katie produced First Receiver, a thoroughbred that her late HM Queen offered Katie to train just two years ago, and this gave her a final win in the Racehorse to Riding Horse series (RoR) for HM Queen at Burghley Horse Trials in September, qualifying him for Horse of the Year Show (HOYS), where he went on to win again, making it a first win for HM King Charles III.

The honours are typically given to members of staff who work closely with the deceased. Whilst other honours are often created by the government, appointees to the Royal Victorian Order are entirely in the gift of the monarch and are made independently from the government.

Katie Jerram-Hunnable has been part of the Smart Grooming team as an influential rider and trainer since 2018, we are proud to support her and her success.
